Who is Jesus?
Jesus Christ (the Word) is the Son of the living God who reveals Himself in three forms: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit — together they are One. God became flesh in Jesus Christ, manifesting Himself as a man on earth through a child born of a virgin named Mary by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is not only the messenger of God or the one who speaks on His behalf; He is God Himself while being fully human. Through His life, His words, and His teaching, He revealed to us that He was God. Yet, the Jews rejected Him, and Jesus voluntarily gave Himself as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of all humanity, especially of those who believe (1 Timothy 4:10).
Can God forgive everything?
Sometimes guilt weighs so heavily that you feel like the most unworthy person in the world, unloved and beyond forgiveness. Perhaps you’ve committed murder, had multiple abortions, stolen, or ruined the lives of others, and you think you’ve gone too far to be reached by the Lord. But that is not true. You are never beyond God’s reach nor His love. NOTHING is outside His reach. The good news is that God can forgive everything.
How can He forgive everything?
God does not ignore our sins and simply say, “I forgive you.” He sees our sin, but He is willing to forgive it because Jesus fully took our sins and paid the price with His death on the cross. Our sin is serious, and it cost Jesus terrible suffering. But from the moment we accept Jesus into our lives and acknowledge that we are sinners, His forgiveness is given to us. True repentance of the heart and asking Him for forgiveness are necessary.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8
"For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe." — 1 Timothy 4:10
How to become a Christian and inherit eternal life?
Becoming a Christian and receiving eternal life can be explained in three steps — the ABC of salvation:
A. Admit (Acknowledge) you are a sinner.
"As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one." — Romans 3:10
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Romans 6:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23
B. Believe in Jesus Christ.
Believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again on the third day.
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." — Romans 10:9-10
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8-9
C. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ.
Confess that you believe in Him, that He paid the price for your sin, and you will be saved.
"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." — Romans 10:13
How to live my Christian life?
The Christian life is a daily walk with God, following His instructions found in the Bible and being guided by the Holy Spirit, which we receive when we accept Jesus as Savior. Living as a Christian means seeking to apply God’s Word more and more in our lives (sanctification). This often requires thinking and living differently from the standards of society.
What is the Bible?
The Bible tells the story of God’s covenant with humanity. The Bible is the Word of God, written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit, as it says: “For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” — 2 Peter 1:21
God uses His Word to communicate with mankind through the Holy Spirit, in various ways — a dream, a verse from Scripture, a worship song, etc. However, the Bible remains the primary and most reliable source of teaching for every Christian.
"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." — Acts 17:11
Therefore, no matter the source of teaching, we must always return to God’s Word (the Bible) to learn how to live according to His will and to find the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding.
